Establishment

Tamùkke Feminists is an intersectional feminist collective that centers on community care, women’s rights, and gender justice in Guyana. The organization was established in 2017 to build public education on issues relevant to women and their social, economic, and political development. Over the past few years, the organization has spearheaded training sessions for young advocates on sexual grooming, safe abortion access, mental wellness, and trans liberation, among other initiatives.

To inspire and strengthen feminist communities for positive action through education and leadership development.

Vision

To strengthen feminist communities, building an environment of joy, growth, and camaraderie.

Objectives

  • To increase feminist knowledge and principles in Guyana.
  • To build a community of women and girls curious about feminism.
  • To educate women and girls on social issues and policies relevant to their rights and development.

Major Achievements

  • The Mind Fund Program- This initiative provides economic support to women to enable them to access professional mental health services.
  • WorkReady program- This initiative provides women with knowledge of labor laws, interview preparedness and also provides them with workwear.
