The Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) is a non-profit organization established in 1993.  It focuses on empowering young people and their communities and seeks to improve the quality of life of youth by promoting involvement in national environment-related matters


The Caribbean Youth Environment Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Caribbean youth by facilitating their personal development ad promoting their full involvement in all matters pertaining to the environment and sustainable development. The organization promotes education and training, Caribbean integration, and community empowerment as tools to develop an ethic of young people that assists in the conservation and protection of natural resources within the Wider Caribbean.

To abide by the general principles of the Plymouth Understanding and the Constitution of CYEN:

  • To create a fair, democratic, proactive, productive organization
  • To develop mechanisms that encourage the personal development of youth
  • To be the leader in youth and the environmental matter
  • To influence policies affecting youth and the environment
  • To maintain the Chapter as a sustainable organization
  • To network with other organizations to further the objectives of the organization
